         Table 3.9:  Water Sample Quality Flag Definitions

    FLAG     DEFINITION
     1    =  Sample for this measurement was drawn from water bottle but  
             analysis not received.

     2    =  Acceptable measurement.

     3    =  Questionable measurement.

     4    =  Bad measurement.

     5    =  Not reported.

     6   =   Mean of replicate measurements (No. of replicates should be
             specified in the -.DES file and replicate data tabulated).

     7   =   Manual chromatographic peak measurement.

     8   =   Irregular digital chromatographic peak integration.

     9   =   Sample not drawn for this measurement from this bottle.

FCO2 Investigator Specific Flags:
    A   =    No corresponding TCO2 for fCO2 data reduction.
    B   =    No corresponding potential temperature.
    C   =    No corresponding TCO2 and potential temperature.
    D   =    Use estimated TCO2 in fCO2 data reduction.
    E   =    Use estimated potential temperature in data reduction.
