Explanation of USHCN Temperature and Precipitation Variables

Minimum Temperature (TMIN) is the fully adjusted monthly mean minimum temperature
Mean Temperature (TMEAN) is the fully adjusted monthly mean temperature
Maximum Temperature (TMAX) is the fully adjusted monthly mean maximum temperature

Minimum Temperature - RAW (TMINRAW) is the unadjusted monthly mean minimum temperature
Mean Temperature - RAW (TMEANRAW) is the unadjusted monthly mean temperature
Maximum Temperature - RAW (TMAXRAW) is the unadjusted monthly mean maximum temperature

Minimum Temperature - TOBS (TMINTOBS) is the monthly mean minimum temperature adjusted only for the time of observation bias
Mean Temperature - TOBS (TMEANTOBS) is the monthly mean temperature adjusted only for the time of observation bias
Maximum Temperature - TOBS (TMAXTOBS) is the monthly mean maximum temperature adjusted only for the time of observation bias

Precipitation (PRECIP) is the total monthly precipitation (unadjusted, but with estimates for missing values)
Precipitation - RAW (PRECIPRAW) is the raw total monthly precipitation (unadjusted and no estimates for missing values)
